Tri-Agency Economic Development Authority in cooperation with the Small Business Development Center has a Micro Enterprise Financial Assistance Program funded by Del Norte County.  This program provides low interest loans to eligible businesses starting up or expanding.  Additionally, funds are available for technical assistance and capacity building of eligible businesses.

The Tribal Employment Rights Office is sponsoring five 2-hour “Business Basic Workshops”  conducted by the North Coast Small Business Center at Howonquet Hall Community Center (or the  conference room in the restaurant).  In a few evenings the Small Business Development Center will cover: legal aspects of start up, essential skills for books and records, the meaning of basic financial reports, preparing and writing a business plan, and the different elements of marketing.

Local financial institutions require loan applicants attend these workshops before starting the application process.
